Amazon Buys Prime Development Site in San Francisco

Amazon has just announced that it has paid $200 million for the prime Showplace Square site and plans to build a 510,000-square-foot distribution center on the parcel instead.
Amazon’s proposed three-story center would rise up to 57 feet in height, with a 122,200-square-foot logistic facility, 22,700 square feet of accessory office space and 350,000 square feet of interior loading and staging space for vehicles. The proposed center’s roof would yield 215,000 square feet of active “fleet staging space” as well.
